There are 3 required trainings for Community Care Corps: CPR, Bystander Intervention Training, and Person Centered Trauma Informed Approaches Training. All volunteers who provide assistance to older adults, adults with disabilities, or family caregivers.
CPR: Organizations may use a vendor of their choice. Training costs are considered an appropriate line item in your budget. Individuals who provide assistance remotely only are not required to be trained in CPR. Any volunteer who provides direct assistance to a member of the target populations should be CPR trained. If a volunteer is unable to complete the CPR training due to a disability, the Leadership Team will make exceptions for those individuals.
Bystander Intervention Training: This training is offered virtually once per quarter and is free to all organizations, their staff and volunteers. The virtual training is approximately 75 minutes long. Asynchronous modules are in development and will be available for use by May 2026. The asynchronous training is expected to take approximately 60 mins.
Person Centered Informed Approaches Training: This training will be offered to all volunteer coordinators/managers who are providing training and orientation to their organization’s volunteers at no cost. These individuals will participate inĀ two 2 hour trainings to learn the content as well as methods for training their volunteers. They can then incorporate this into their volunteer training program and manuals.
