Every May, we celebrate Older Americans Month as a time to recognize the contributions of older adults and reaffirm our shared commitment to supporting older adults across the country. This year’s theme, Champion Your Health, focuses on prevention, wellness and personal responsibility as cornerstones of healthy aging. The theme encourages individuals to take an active role in managing their health, advocating for themselves, accessing preventive care and making informed decisions that support independence and overall well-being.

At Community Care Corps, we champion volunteer-driven support and innovative local programs that empower and support older adults, adults with disabilities and family caregivers to lead healthier, more independent lives. From transportation and friendly visiting programs to respite support, caregiver education and social connection initiatives, our grantees are helping individuals remain engaged, supported and connected within their communities.

This month, we are also excited to welcome our newest cohort of grantees for the 2026–2027 grant cycle! These organizations represent unique communities and aim to strengthen caregiving networks, reduce social isolation and expand opportunities for older individuals to age with dignity and independence across the country. It is worth noting that a significant number of organizations in this cohort are focusing on volunteer transportation and chaperone programs, helping older adults and adults with disabilities safely access medical appointments, essential services and community activities. This continues to be an important priority area within the Administration for Community Living (ACL)’s focus on reducing barriers to health care access and independence.

We are proud to introduce the 2026–2027 Community Care Corps grantees:
