As the summer months roll in, so do unique caregiving challenges. Rising temperatures, transportation gaps, and increased social isolation can create real obstacles for older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities. For those living with dementia and their families, these challenges can feel even more pronounced making daily routines more difficult and increasing the need for extra support and understanding.
But thanks to the dedicated efforts of Community Care Corps (C3) grantees across the country, help is never too far away. From quick errands to friendly visits, meal prep to respite care, these small acts of service delivered by volunteers are making a big difference. C3 volunteers offer more than support. They offer comfort, companionship, and a reminder that no one has to go through this alone.
Gratitude to Our Grantees in Action
We want to take a moment to recognize the current cohort of C3 grantees. Your programs are rooted in care, compassion, and creativity and it shows. Whether you’re helping someone get to a doctor’s appointment, checking in with a caregiver who needs to talk, or finding new ways to reach those who might otherwise be overlooked, your impact is real and deeply felt.
You’re not just filling service gaps, you’re building connections, trust, and belonging in your communities. We see your dedication, and it is a privilege to support you on this journey.
Resources to Support Your Summer Outreach
If you’re looking for inspiration or a little extra support, our C3 Learning Library is here to help. It’s full of tools, templates, and real-world lessons from grantees across the network designed to help you grow and strengthen your volunteer-based programs.
There’s no need to start from scratch. You’re part of a caring, nationwide network and the Learning Library is one way we continue to share and support one another.
Summer can be a time of warmth and joy but for many, it’s also a season of added caregiving responsibilities and increased need. The work you’re doing right now matters so much.
To every grantee, volunteer, and caregiver: thank you for the commitment, care, and creativity you bring to this work every day. This summer and in the seasons that follow, know that your efforts have a real impact on real lives.
