Community Care Corps does not fund any paid caregiver services. The volunteers cannot participate in any paid caregiver services. If bringing in an aid or paid caregiver allows a care recipient to participate in your local model, that is allowed as long as the aid or paid caregiver is not funded by Community Care Corps. That aid or paid caregiver does not quality to be counted as a volunteer.

Organizations cannot use Community Care Corps funds to cover the cost of medical professionals providing medical assistance to participants during programming. For example, Community Care Corps will not cover the salary or contractual fees to bring a CNA to assist participants of a respite program. Those CNA hours cannot be used for volunteer hours as they are providing medical assistance.

Professional students completing medical clinical fieldwork also do not qualify as volunteers as the type of assistance they are providing is considered medical assistance. Examples would be PT, OT, nursing or social work students providing services directly related to their fields of study.
